Barbara Georgey  joins Orbitworks as our Test Infrastructure Engineer!

Barbara is an accomplished engineering leader and innovation specialist with a track record of designing scalable, automated testing solutions for complex embedded systems across the automotive and electronics industries. With a degree in Electronics Engineering from the German University in Cairo, she combines a deep technical foundation with a passion for creativity, process optimization, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Barbara has held senior engineering and technical lead roles at Luxoft and Valeo, where she pioneered automated validation frameworks for ADAS platforms and developed standardized test management systems deployed globally. Her work spans system validation, platform integration, CI/CD pipeline development, and compliance with ISO and ASPICE standards—delivering up to 90% reduction in manual effort and significant quality improvements. She is also known for her mentorship and thought leadership, empowering teams to embrace innovation and challenge the status quo. Fluent in Arabic and English with working knowledge of French and German, Barbara brings a global mindset and creative energy to every project. We are thrilled to welcome her to Orbitworks as our new Test Infrastructure Engineer, where she will play a key role in advancing the reliability and automation of our testing ecosystems.

Jill Zalat joins Orbitworks as our new Satellite Operations Engineer!

Jill Aghyourli Zalat is a skilled Satellite Operations Engineer with experience spanning aerospace mission operations, research, and emerging technologies. Currently supporting commercial mission operations at both Orbitworks and Loft Orbital, she has contributed to satellite programs in Toulouse, Abu Dhabi, and Canada. Jill previously served as an International Mission Operations Engineer at MDA Space, where she led operational readiness and supported satellite mission execution. Earlier in her career, she conducted innovative research at Ryerson University, developing k-means clustering algorithms for indoor wireless mapping. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering – Mechatronics from Ryerson University and has further specialized in XR Development with Unity. Jill combines hands-on satellite operations expertise with strong programming and analytical skills, positioning her to drive mission success in dynamic space environments.
